Halloween 2013

We had a fun day. I volunteered in Micah's class in the morning to help with the pizza snack. Most of the kids had dressed up and they had a parade around the school to show off all the costumes (something I remember doing in Kindergarten as well :-).

In the evening we joined the other neighbourhood kids around Micah's and Jared's age and went trick or treating down our street. We all had a blast!

The Adventure of Pamela and Ryan

I have been so blessed to have spent the last 10 years with such a beautiful person. It has definitely been a wonderful adventure with my best friend.

Happy Anniversary,

Ryan

I CanSkate

This fall Micah started skating lessons with CanSkate at our local arena. After his second lesson he is already skating on his own and his confidence is building. We are so happy that he is starting to enjoy this great Canadian pastime.

One of our favourite Toronto spots....

One of our favourite Toronto spots to hang out on a Saturday morning is the Evergreen Brickworks. When we were living downtown it was a beautiful walk from our old place and we would go quite often; however, we have had such a busy summer that we hadn't gone since moving so we were trilled to enjoy a sunny autumn morning at this Toronto gem on Saturday. There is a wonderful farmers market, live music, kids garden, and places to climb, build, and get dirty. Here are a few pictures from this past Saturday....

Alaska July 2013

This summer I (Pamela) went on a Alaskan Cruise with my grandma, mom, and sister. It was on my grandma's 'bucket list' and I treasure the opportunity I had to go with her. Here are a few photos of the trip.
Grandma and I at dinner. The food was amazing and the views were always spectacular.

Two of the most important women in my life.

Almost 90 and my grandma still has a great sense of humour.

Micah's First Day of School

On Wednesday Micah had his first day of Kindergarten. He is enrolled in our local public school and is in the morning program. The first day caregivers were allowed to come along to meet the teacher and check out the classroom. On the walk home from school, Micah shared that he was so excited to go home and tell Jared all about Kindergarten. Today was Micah's first day by himself. Micah was excited and I was happy for him; however, Jared was not so trilled that Micah went in the school building without him. After dropping Micah off, Jared cried and kept asking for Micah. Micah was in such a good mood after school that he skipped all the way home. All and all I could not have asked for a better start to such an important milestone in his life.

Jared's 2nd Birthday

Our little baby is not a baby anymore and is now officially a 2 year old. He has such a fun loving personality and he is more precious to us then words could describe. For his birthday we had a fun family celebration that included presents and cake.

Here is some Jared info:

Language is coming along and he is becoming easier to understand as he tries to communicate using English words. He refers to him self as “me” and is yet to say his name, which is actually kind of cute. He counts to three and can identify blue and green. He loves buses and will let us know whenever he sees a “big bus” and is trilled whenever we actually can ride the bus.  He really has a tenderness to his personality, often when Micah is crying he will bring Micah his teddy bear or stroke Micah’s arm gently or try to give him a hug. It really warms my heart whenever I see these thoughtful gestures. He is fearless. No push on the swing is too high or no playground equipment is too big for our adventurous little boy. He is independent and has no problem exploring on his own which means we have ‘lost’ him more then once and always have to keep an eye on him. He loves to play in his kitchen and dig in his sand box (or mommy’s garden). He loves bugs and will come running to let us know whenever he has found a new little creature. He loves to pretend and we will often hear him ribbit like a frog or roar like a lion.

Bikes

Florida May 2013

In the end of May we had a wonderful Florida family holiday with Ryan's parents and Aunt Linda. Our week away consisted of lots of beach time and swimming in the pool. We also went to Young at Art Children's Museum (which was amazing), the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Science and Discovery, and Sawgrass Recreation Centre. The kids loved spending time with their grandparent's and we also got to spend sometime with them in Toronto before and after our holiday.

Soccer 2013

Outdoor soccer has started for the summer and our Saturday mornings now consist of us walking half a block to our local soccer field for classes. Micah loves his class and has been doing really well with listening to the coaches and following instructions. I am so proud of him. Jared is very proud that he too has a soccer class; however, he usually only lasts half a class before he is ready to move on to the playground :-)
